Broadway.com readers' favorite Roxie Hart Bianca Marroquin will return to Chicago beginning July 17 at the Ambassador Theatre. Marroquin, who is taking over the role of Roxie Hart from Ryoko Yonekura as Roxie Hart, will be joined onstage by longtime Chicago company member Brian O'Brien as Billy Flynn for a limited three-week engagement through August 5.
Chicago follows Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover. Desperate to avoid conviction, she hires Billy Flynn, Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer, much to the dismay of her rival cellmate Velma Kelly. Directed by Walter Bobbie, the Tony-winning revival is now in its 16th year.
Marroquin began her stage career in Mexico City in productions of Beauty and the Beast, Rent, The Vagina Monologues, The Phantom of the Opera, and Chicago. Her other Broadway credits include In the Heights and The Pajama Game.
In addition to playing Billy Flynn in both the Broadway and national touring companies of Chicago, O'Brien's other Broadway credits include Promises, Promises, The Pirate Queen, Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun and Steel Pier.
Chicago currently stars Amra-Fay Wright as Velma Kelly, Tony Yazbeck as Billy Flynn, Carol Woods as Matron “Mama” Morton, R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine and Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart.
